Swamiji sri selvam siddhar

The Great Sage Couples of India.
India is very famous for the religions. There lived a lot of Rishis or Sages. They lived in the forests. Theydid a lot of Thapas. All of them had wives. These wives were called as “RishiPathnis”. Even though they lived together, they had no intrest towards the worldly life. Inthis issue we will see about three of those couples.
Arundati andVasishta.
Vasishta is one of the Saptarishis of this Manvantara. He is the son of Lord Brahma and the Rajaguru of the Suryavamsha or Soalr dynasty. Arundathi was his wife. He is the author of Vasisht Samhita a treatise on electional astrology. He and his family are glorified in a hymn in the Rig Veda.
Once Lord Rama, the son of Dasaratha returned after completing a pilgrimage of holy places. He was saddened at the trials that a human has to undergo. Dasaratha called Rama to his palace and asked what is bothering Him. Rama then explained his disenchantment with worldly things and expressed sadness at the miserable life as a worldly man. Then Sage Vasishta started answering the questions poed by Lord Rama. This is the context and content of the scripture called “Yoga Vasishta”.
Once King Kalmashapada was going in his chariot. Sakthi, Vasishta’s son encountered the chariot in the forest. The rules demanded that a chariot always give way to saints, old men, men carrying a burden, pregnant women, etc. But King Kalmashapada ordered Sakthi to move away from the path. Sakthi cursed that the king to become a Raksasha (demon). The king became a rakshasa and true to his character lost all sight of righteousness and seeked Sakthi and killed him. Vasishta was saddened at the turn of events especially since Sakthi’s wife Adrushyanti, was pregnant. In a few days she gave birth to a son. Vasishta named him Parashara.
Once when Adrushyanti was gathering twings in the forest. she came across the raksasha. Adrushyanti was scared. Vasishta uttered a few syllables and Kalmashapada could not do anything. He then gave the true form to Kalmashapada. When Parashara wanted to seek revenge Vasishta adviced him not to do so. This showed the level of perfection that Sage Vasishta had attained
Anusuya and Atri
Sage Atri is one of the Saptarishis in the current Manvantara and a son of Brahma. He is one among the Sages who propounded the sacred thread (Poonal). Sage Atri’s wife is Anusuya, an embodiment of chastity. He is considered to be one of the great discoverers of sacred mantras. Atri Samhita and Atri Smriti are two works of the great sage.
Sage Atri made a great tapas on the Kula Mountains. This caused the whole world to start burning. Brahma-Vishnu-Maheswara were pleased and appeared before the Sage and asked what he wanted. Sage Atri asked them to be their son. Hence they were born as Dattatreya, Chandraartri and Krishnantri.
Once the Trinity decided to test the chastity of Anusuya. They came to her house as Brahmins and requested for food. They conditioned that, the food be served to them that she should be naked while serving. Anusuya agreed without any hesitation. In a split second, she converted the Brahmins into children and offered food to them in naked. The Trinity regained their original form on requesting Anusuya. Such was the power of Anusuya’s chastity. Since she gave food to the children, she was bound to become their mother.
Lord Rama during his 14 year exile visited Atri Maharishi’s ashram near the Mandakini river. It was Sage Atri who showed Lord Rama the way to the Dandakaranya forest. Anusuya explained to Sita about the importance and siugnificance of Satitva. Anusuya’s devotion to the Lord can be understood through the couplet she composed. It meant “I am making this humble request with my folded hands never-ever abandon me from your feet by changing my mind”.
Renuka and Jamadagni
Jamadagni was a descendent of Sage Bhrigu. His wife was Renuka. His sons are Sushena,Vasu, Viashvavasu and Parashurama. Jamadagni engaged deeply in study and obtained the entire posession of the Vedas.Jamadagni’s mother, Satyavati, was daughter of King Gadhi, a Kshatriya. The Vishnu Purana relates that when Satyavati was pregnant, her Brahman husband, Richika, prepared a concoction for her to eat for the purpose of securing that her son should be born with the qualities of a Brahman. He also gave another concoction to her mother that she might bear a son with the character of a warrior. The women changed the messes, and so Jamadagni, the son of Richika, was born as a warrior-Brahman, and Vishvamitra, son of the Kshatriya Gadhi, was born as a priest.
Renuka was an embodiment of chastity. This chastity enabled her to perform feats others coudnt imagine. Everyday she used to bring water from the river in a pot made of unbaked clay. One day while she was fetching the water from the river a handsome Gandharva named Chitraratha was passing by in a chariot. For a split second Renuka was infatuated for the handsome being. This weakened her powers and the pot dissolved in the river. Afraid to go back she waited near the riverbed. Sage Jamadagni through his powers came to know of all that had happened. He called his sons and asked them to go and behead Renuka. None of the sons were willing to do it except for Parashurama. The other sons were turned to stone. Parashurama went and beheaded his mother with the axe. He was the embodiment of obidiency. Jamadagni was pleased and told Parashurama to ask for boons. Parashurama asked that his mother be brought back to life and that his brothers be revived.
In the next issue we will know about some more sages and rishis of Hinduism.

Disciples Discretions of Adhi Shankara

There were several notable disciples to Adhi Shankara. They have left their “Path” to this world, which is showing the light of torch for the welfare of the human beings. We are now going to find the light of their torch in the forms of words.

No 1:
This world is a mirage with false appearance. The omnipresence is the Real Nature, and truth. Don’t be with the egoistic thinking that the money, possession, wealth and relatives will be permanent and ever be yours. The mighty time will wipeout these things within seconds of a minute.

No 2:
While the seasons are changing the worldly life comes to an end. Time is playing as day and night, morning and evening; winter and summer. When the life comes to an end the air named “soul” leaves the physique; but the air called “desire” don’t leave even then.

No 3:
Atleast here after join and have relationship with pious people. When a person gets old age, disease like paralysis may attack him. Who would support that person when he looses his balance and falls down! Either that fellow’s wealth comes to help him at that stage? Even with the credibility as wife, does she could? One should go further and reach the Bank of birthlessness and deathlessness.

No 4:
When a person gets old age he looses all his teeth. That person’s head becomes bold. His physical streangth passes away. His physique becomes like a piece of “wood”. In that stage he supports his body weight through a hand–stick. The head will be with grey hair for a few. Without the balance of body they do walk. Even then that person never detaches from his desire and attraction of worldly things.
                                                                                                                                      -Sri.Thodakachariya.

No 5:
A fellow saint grows his hair like threads as if that of a rope. Another one removes the hair completely. One more saint wears the dress of the saint hood. A peculiar saint shaves half of his head. These are fearful appearances. None of these saints have received the vision of God. They are blind even though they have the eyes. They pretend as “saints”; but they are also in need to feed their stomach.
                                                                                                                        - Sri Padmapathaacharya

No 6:
When the sunsets and night comes. One saint, not tolerating the chillness. He closes his jaws and folds his knee’s joints. When the sun arises that saint performs ‘Homa’ with fire. During the midnoon the sun light scorches his back side of the shoulder. Then he begs for his food by raising his hands. He uses to sleep under the shadow of the tree. Even that Person has not thrown away the rope of passion named Desire and attraction.
-Sri.Hasthamalakaacharya

No 7:
One may take bath at the adjunction of Ganges and Jamuna. Another may take bath in the Holy River “Ganges”. One may visit holy places through out the country. Another one may practice several penances. Some another may donate money for the sake of poor. Even that person if he had not matured with enlightenment, he could not attain “Wisdom”. That person, as per all religious norms even if he takes hundreds of births, he could not attain wisdom.
- Sri.Subothacharya.

No 8:
Which is the thing that made for one’s comfort? For one, who had strong renunciation and has no languish for worldly pleasures. That kind of person resides under the shadows of trees and sleeps on plain floor. That person wears the skin of “Deer” for his waist. That person gets benefit for next world or bliss for no rebirth.
- Sri.Sureshvarachariya.

No 9:
Any person who has no contacts with others as well with his relatives – A person who renounces worldly pleasures even then enjoys limited worldly happiness. A person who indulges in meditative practices- that person, if whole mindedly concentrated with the Almighty at any circumstances – That person enjoys the ever lasting divinely – pleasure in the three phases of times (past, present and future). That person gets freedom from punishment of life and death.

No 10:
When birth occurs death comes. When death occurs birth comes, Again and Again one have to suffer in the womb of a mother. Again the mother’s abdomen is the cradle or birth bed. This cycle has no end oh Lord! You are the saviour from this criteria. With kindness and mercy, save from the ocean of Birth.

No 11:
A person may behave like a mad man, the same person will cajole, like a child. That person may ‘Wear’- worn out clothes found in the street. His activities can’t be explained as pure or unpure; bad or good sin or good deed. It would look like an exceptional law. To those kinds of saints, one should give respect and obey him.
                                                                                                                                       Sri Nithyanandhacharya

No 12:
When a person dreams something about, joyful or sorrowful happenings, it occurs. When the whole human life transists or takes one form in to another form. Truly this world has no substance. Everything comes and goes in imagination; like that this life is in a dream state.
Ask yourself “Where from I came?
Who is the mother in this birth?
Who is the father before this birth?
Who is the third person or enemy?
Leave this world on the title of creator’s burden one and all are bound to obey the Almighty or Nature’s formation.
- SriYoganandhacharya

OM NAMASHIVAYA!
OM NAMO NARAYANAYA!!

PEACE LOVE JOY

This is dedicated to His Holiness Sri Selvam Siddhar
and Hindu Temple of Georgia & Family.

We Salute to all Saints, Gurujis, Teachers, Maharshis,
Sages and God/Self realised persons of this world
without whom's Teachings and Guidance our life seems
to have no meaning.

My respect to all Divine religions of this world which
spread God's message, unconditional love, peace and
make this world a place of
Joy(Paradise).

WHO AM I to write something on Peace, Love and Joy
which all miraculous creatures of the UNIVERSAL MIND
or GOD or NATURE or whichever
name you like to call.

This is not to find fault with GOD's Divine Creatures.
We wonder seeing, feeling, perceiving and imagining
this MIRACULOUS UNIVERSE and
surrender fully to HIM. As I am transformed from
non-believer to a man of fully devoted to God service
for the rest of life and having
some understanding of life because of the so many
Guru's divine spiritual words(read/heared) and by the
Grace of GOD experiencing some real peace,
having unconditional love to all creatures without
judgement and Joy(bliss or happiness) going in on
meditation for sometime and after getting an
opportunity
to write by the grace of God through Sri Selvam
siddhar I started writing. If you feel that you have
already achieved peace, love and joy
like the many realised persons of this world you
better stop here and BE AS YOU ARE.

Everybody or every creature of this miraculous God's
creation is Unique and Divine. This Universe, nOt even
single atom, exists withot HIM.

This is only the message of those saints and sages of
the past and present as understood by me. This is not
with the desire to change the world but
to give sometime to change ourselves. If you have some
time to GOD also you will have peace, love and joy.
Read divine scriptures like The Holy Geeta,The
Upanishads, the teachings of Self-Realised
souls(Paramahansa Yogananda, Swami Sivananda, Sri
Aurobindo and so on), The Holy Bible, The Quran and
Buddha's teaching or whichever
you like to understand God and Life and where we are
in this Universe or who Am I. So the credit of this
writing is not mine. The Body, Mind and Intelligence
of VishnuShivapriyan is fully surrendered to That
Super Power which has created this Universe.

God is Love. So it is with love this VishnuShivapriyan
writes . Sharing whatever you have will multiply this
UNIVERSAL law.The UNIVERSAL CONSCIOSNESS has
created everything with a purpose. VishnuShivapriyan
purpose now in life, by the grace god, is to spread
peace, unconditional love and divine Joy.
Because of our ignorance we make paradise mother earth
a hell to live.
Ethanai Kodi Inbam thanthai Iraiva only comes to my
mind.
As you sow so you reap. If you want peace, love and
joy in this world, sow and show whatever peace love
and joy you have in all possible ways.
For every action there is equal and opposite reaction.
Keeping this law in mind you decide your action in
this world.

For a ignorant mind God is No where. For an
intelligent mind God is Nowhere. God is everywhere and
in everything, all powerfull, without beginning and
end,
changeless in everchanging Universe, spread in all
directions endlessly, within and without and HE is
smaller than an atom and bigger than your imagined
world
and Universe.
Though VishnuShivapriyan read a lot of spiritual books
for more than 15years, VishnuShivapriyan started
meditating practically with the Mantra
"OM MAMASHIVAYA " as advised by Siddhar Sri
Dharmalingam Swamigal present avtar of Siddhar Sri
Kagapujandar for some days and later included Divine
Mantra
" OM NAMO NARAYANAYA" with that. Everything happens
according to God's plan. He is Director of this Cosmic
worldly drama and we are only actors and spectators.
Within some days VishnuShivapriyan left 25 years of
cigarete smoking habit withot any urge to smoke again.
Now VishnuShivapriyan feels accepting life as given
by God and this life itself a great wealth to relish
not to mourn. VishnuShivapriyan now feel more
peaceful. VishnuShivapriyan now able to have
unconditional
love with everybody without jealousy and judgement. My
life changed from the usual materialistic life of this
world to joyful spritual dedicated to
God's service life. VishnuShivapriyan got the
opportunity to write as wished. VishnuShivapriyan
gives below one poem written some time back in a
different
mode of life.
       ONLY GOD KNOWS

I wonder why we forget the Father of the
Universe;
I wonder why we forget the Owner of the
Universe;
I wonder why we compete with one another
for material things;
I wonder why we forget the real Owner, the
LORD;
I wonder why we are searching happiness
everywhere
And in everything except God who is inside
us too;
I wonder why we are ignorant of miraculous
Creation of GOD;
I wonder why our desire is endless except
God's desire;
I wonder why we are not happy with what we
have;
I wonder when unconditional Love to the
world going to spread;
I wonder now Who is going to spread God's
message to the world;
I wonder who knows the Answer;ONLY GOD
KNOWS!!!.

If you find something intersting in this will
continue...

MAY LOVE PEACE AND JOY PREVAIL EVERYWHERE. GOD BLESS
US.

As a composer, he takes full rights on Pyaar Zindagi Hai (2001). As far as soundtracks, Bali fully steals the show in Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999). Don’t forget Bali is remarkably known for his dance numbers on Hindi celluloid. Bali has indefinitely served as master of ceremonies globally for numerous live stage shows. Recent ones being, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, and Abhijeet. Chitrmala, just a few months back, spotted him in his unforgettable dialogue in Atlantic City, NJ where he hosted the live concert with Abhijeet (India’s top leading male singer). Here, Ms. Nilima Mehra of Chitrmala said, “I thought I was the leading master of ceremonies on stage, but from your performance today, you most definitely take the cake”. To which, Bali replied, “you are no less – I’ll never forget that you are a superb interviewer”.
Last year Bali walked into the studio of Chitrmala (courtesy Mr. Melwin Quadros). Upon seating, the camera and lights turned on, and Bali’s mellifluous voice said, “Tere Bin Jeena…”. He was amazing. This number has been a worldwide hit. At this setting, Ms. Nilima Mehra took a rather long and historical interview which we shall post in a future issue of Siddhi Times. Bali’s latest release is Banjara. Here, his long red woven jacket and his naturally sexy voice is mind blowing. This music video was shot in Muscat, Oman. Some months back, Chitrmala had full rights to air Banjara (courtesy Melwin Quadros).
Brace yourselves – as this husky artist is getting ready to pay a visit to the Washington D.C. Metro Area. To be exact,, May 11th 2008 (Mother’s Day) at the Lisner Auditorium of George Washington University – this event is being hosted by Indu Entertainment. Get to know Bali Brahmbhatt closely – don’t forget to date him on this Mother’s Day and enjoy his illustrious performance. Gee!! What a treat for the Washingtonians!

Vish Yoga ?

Vish Yoga —Vish Yoga is formed when Saturn and Moon are together or when Sat aspects Moon.It is not a good yoga and person born under this yoga can do harm of persons represented by the house in which Saturn is placed. Shani and Chandra Yuti, generally considered as VISH YOGA (Poison Combination). It does creates bad effect on Mother and her health particularly. But more importantly see the 4th House of the Native for Mother Son / Mother and Daughter relations.

If Saturn is with Mars / Rahu in 4th House or making Kendra / Samsaptak Yoga like 4-10 combination then there are much more chances that it will create rift between them. This normally leads to separation in the relation. A very painful patch for family in general.

If Saturn and Moon are in Yuti where the distance between the Planets is less than 5 degrees then generally it gives worst effects. It can make the Native emotionally and mentally weak. Saturn poisons the Natural emotions of Moon causing lack of Expression and Emotions from Native .These people are Hard working in Nature but success comes after the Age of 30-32. They generally land in to Service Industry after series of Failures.

They are Strict in Discipline and make a Good Administrator. This Yuti gives Bad effects during Each Others Dasa and Antar Dasas. It reflects losses of the House where both the Planets are located. eg. If this Yuti is in 5th House then, Chandra Mahadasa with Shani Antardasa or vice versa will give Bad effect to Native, which leads to Failure in Exams, Sudden Change in Education Streams, Failure in Love Affair or Problem to Son/Daughter of Native.

History of Shani dev

Shani is a Deva and son of Surya (the Hindu Sun God) and his wife Chhaya (Shadow goddess) and hence also known as Chayyaputra. He is the elder.brother of Yama, the Hindu God of death, who in some scriptures corresponds to the deliverance of justice. Interestingly, Surya’s two sons Shani and Yama judge. Shani gives us the results of one’s deeds through one’s life through appropriate punishments and rewards; Yama grants the results of one’s deeds after death.[1] It is said that when Shani opened his eyes as a baby for the very first time, the sun went into an eclipse, which clearly denotes the impact of Shani on astrological charts. He is known as the greatest teacher. Shani dev is said to be very harmful to those who follow the path of betrayal, backstabbing and unjust revenge. He is known in Hindu scriptures as the greatest trouble giver as well as the greatest well wisher. He is depicted dark in color, clothed in black; holding a sword, arrows and two daggers and variously mounted on a black crow

Saturn Mahadasa and Shani Sade Sati

If u want to remove ur life shani sade-sati or shani daaya or shani dosha evil & bad effect then yagya is the best way of the complete remove ur all shani dev evil effect .Because only worship or Totka shani planet related or wearing of shani dev gems & stone Ring can not remove shani dev evil effect it’s all method can gives only 25% to 30% relief shani evil effect because shani dev pleased of only mantra chanting and yagya when any person do shani dev shanti complete process by chanting of mantra and 10 th part of chanting yagya then he get complete relief in his life because it’s will be give 100% positive effect whole life.According to Purana all gems & stone shani related gives positive effect only 30% and all Totke shani related in human life but not 100% positive only Mantra chanting & yagya has been 100% positive result in human life .when Sade-sati generally affects close relatives more than the native,During the period, the native has to undergo a testing time.

Financially, the native will face more expenditure than inflow of income. Unnecessary financial problems may crop up. On health front also, it will affect the native. Lack of happiness, heavy tensions, eye problems, severe mental tension, unnecessary travels and at times, the native will face problems from the near relatives. Influences the domestic front as well as the business front, During the second phase, th native’s family will be disturbed. He will undergo a long journey. He will be haunted by enemies and some of the natives may also get separated. Financial problems, social dishonor, lack of good friends and over all the native will be under severe stress, children, family, health, and physical suffering or may even indicate the death of the native. During this period, the native may lack of happiness. Loss of position is to be noted. Expenditure will be more than income. Inflow of money will be there but it is not suffice. The native may likely involve into unnecessary disputes and legal problems and health will be at task.

To get benefic effects of sade-sati on health, mental peace, family happiness, finance & profession you are suggested for Maha-mrityunjaya & Maa Kali Japa. Recited following mantra for Min 125000 times. punarcharana, havanan, danam .it’s yagya has not sufficient have to do only one time of During period of sade-sati.Guru maharaja suggest that because it’s Kalyuga not a satyuga so due this according to Puran every

Astrology & Shani dev

According to Vedic astrology, Shani Bhagavan is one of the nine Navagraha or planets. Shani is considered to be the strongest malefic and a stern teacher who represents patience, effort, endeavor, and endurance; and who brings restrictions and misfortunes. However, a favorably-placed Shani on the horoscope of a person stands for a strong career, healthy life and everything positive for that person. In fact, a well-placed Shani in one’s horoscope is something every astrology-believing Hindu hopes for, as no other ‘graha’can bestow what a favorable Shani can. Shani placed “unfavorably”, on the other hand, denotes troubles in all of the above. Shani is much feared by those Hindus who believe in astrology, as the “malefic” effects of his being unfavorably placed can be quite severe.

However, it is to be remembered that any pleasure or pain that befalls a person during Shani’s influence is not arbitrary; rather, it is the result of the person’s own karma, now being manifested in the “presence” of Shani. Thus an “unfavorably-placed” Shani brings about the harsh results of one’s bad karma, and vice-versa. The diseases which Lord Shani gives are decay, constriction, poor blood supply, atrophy, etc. and at mental level narrow mind, low thinking. These diseases need to be cured by Lord Shani rules and regulations only.

The planet Shani or Saturn revolves around the Sun in about 30 years, which means it passes through all the 12 rashis or moon signs in 30 years. Thus Shani Bhagavan spends on an average about two and half years in each rashi or moon sign. This movement of Shani through the moon signs carries great importance in Hindu astrology and horoscope predictions. The effect of Shani starts when it enters the previous rashi/moonsign to one’s own birth rashi and stops when it leaves the rashi /moonsign after one’s birth rashi. The total period of 7.5 years (2.5 years × 3) is called Saadesaati or “Elanata Shani”, and is typically a period of great difficulty. When it occurs for a person foregoing Shani Maha Dasha the malefic effects of the planet are highly pronounced. It is said that Shani can reduce even a king to a pauper during such period.Shani rules the signs Makara (Capricorn) and Kumbha (Aquarius), is exalted in Tula (Libra) and is debilitated in Mesha (Aries). Mercury, Venus, Rahu, Ketu are considered friendly towards Shani or Saturn, while the Sun, Moon and Mars are enemies. Guru or Jupiter maintains neutral relations with Shani. Shani is the lord of three nakshatras or lunar mansions: Pushya, Anuradha and Uttara Bhadrapada.

Shani Bhagavan has the following associations: his color is black or dark blue, metal is iron and gemstone is Blue Sapphire. His element or tattva is air, direction is west (where the sun sets and darkness begins) and he rules all seasons. The traditional foods for Shani are sesame seeds or black gram, black lentils his flower is the violet and he is linked to all black animals and all trees that are considered useless and ugly.Shani rules over masses. Without the planet’s blessings in one’s horoscope, a mass following is difficult to come by. It is said that an exalted Saturn in the ascendant (or Lagna) of one’s horoscope awards one with such leadership position entailing fame from and recognition among masses. Moreover, such people are said to have high commitment and perseverance for the task at hand.

On the other hand, a debilitated Saturn in one’s horoscope makes one’s ‘Karma’ weak and such individual with debilitated Saturn is said to have poor commitment and perseverance towards duties and hence suffers in the process of completing one’s karmic obligations.

Hence ‘Moksha’ is difficult to come by without Shaniswara’s blessings in one’s horoscope. Lord Shaniswara is also known as Needhiman(Judge). He only troubles the person during his dasa for the wrong doings. Even in Shani Dosha, if a person is Righteous & Devoted he is sure to come out of this period without any ill effects.
Lord Shaniswara is more known for his Blessings than his ill effects. No other graha is comparable with Lord Shani in terms of blessings. He showers with his blessings at the end of his dasha. His Adi-Devata is Prajapati and Pratyadi-Devata is Yama. Lord Shani tests the person patience, He tries to correct our immoral acts by creating frustrations, and delays. In the end He makes one conscious enough to understand the mistakes. He removes ignorance from mind by punishment, the benefits that He matures the soul of being and person turns copper to gold from within i.e. he begins to understand the Truths of life, the futility of his actions done out of ignorance. One comes to understand after Lord Shani periods that not much is in control of human beings. It is all divine acting on human beings through the agents of Gods. Lord Shani is the greatest purifier, everything false will perish and only Truth will shine, that is His message.

People born on number 8 are ruled by Lord Shani in numerology. It is a proven fact that number 8, 26 born on any month will have hardships in their life. The hardship has a purpose and it is important to identify the purpose in this lifetime. Remedies of appeasing Shani, includes taking responsibility of wrong actions, self-analysis and hard work. Donation of blue cloth on Saturdays and serving poor also helps

Significance of Navaratri.
Sri Mathre Namaha.
Goddess Parasakthi, wife of Lord Shiva is the united shape of the holy trinity Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. She created this universe. As it is very common to have a few bad things while creating good things, a few evil spirits which are called as “Asuraas” were also created. Nobody was able to conquer them. They prayed Goddess Parasakthi to kill those evil effects and protect this universe. So, Goddess Parasakthi killed all the evil effects in a span of nine days. These days usually come in the Tamil month Purattasi or Aippasi. (According to English Calendar from the 3rd week of September to the 3rd week of October). These nine days are called as “Navaratri” and the 10th day is called as Vijaya Dasami. This 10th day is the best day to begin the learning of any kind of art or start a new business. If we pray Goddess Parasakthi in these days, it is sure that we will get the best blessings from Goddess Parasakthi. We have made elaborate arrangements to celebrate navaratri festivals at the Hindu Temple of Georgia. It is the best to perform Deepa Pooja /Thiruvilakku Pooja on any day in one of these 9 days. Legs with Boots

One who does not bow his head before the foe is called “Valliant person”. ‘Hyder Ali’ is of this principle and proved as a Brave King. He ruled the state of Mysore in India. The British men who came to India as traders desired to capture the entire country. The unity among the Indian Kings were spoiled by them. They began to catch one after another state of the country.

But “Hyder Ali’ did not fear for their guns and rifles. Hyder Ali showed much importance to the patriotism. The soil in which he born was worshipped by him. He did not want to loose the state. There was a big war between British army and Mysore Army. (Hyeder Ali). The war was going on at a place called as Sri Rangapatna; several thousands of warriors from both sides lost their lives.

In front of the mighty regiment of British, Hyder Ali’s soldiers, horses and Elephants could not manage the attack. Hyder Ali could not win the battle. He was captured by the soldiers of British. He was brought before the commander of British Army. Hyder Ali stood before him with all his braveness. The commander expected him to bow his head and surrender. Hyder Ali stood as a brave tiger. The commander ordered him to salute him. But Hyder Ali replied that the respect is not the think to demand and possess. He further explained that his head will bow before God only and never lower down to man kind. The British commander challenged him and told “You will bow your hand before me”.

Next day the commander raised a wall in between his chamber and Hyder Ali’s cell in which he was locked and kept as captive. The commander ordered the soldiers to make a hole in the wall. It was arranged to a height of a short Boy. The commander ordered Hyder Ali to come and meet him.

Swamiji sri selvam siddhar The commander thought that Hyder Ali should bend and low down his head in the hole and reach him. So that Hyder would bow his head and reach him. Hyder Ali came to know the plan of commander easily. Hyder Ali lay down his body near the hole and projected his legs with Boots and managed to get through the hole with his balancing of both hands which carried the body easily and helped to stand as a Brave man in front of commander.

The smart actions and the way in which he disrespected the officer through the legs with boots inspite of his head made the scene as a climax.

THE THRONE OF JUSTICE

Once upon a time, there lived in India a great and justice king. His name was Vikramaditya. After his death, his beautiful palace and the city of marble fell into ruins. People remembered nothing
but his name. They remembered he was great ,good ,wise and gentle.

One day a few boys were ending their lows. The cows led them to a green mound among the ruins. The boys played, while the cows grazed in the fields.

One of the boys invented a game. “I shall be the Judge”, he said “and you shall bring your cases to me. I will do justice”.

The boy sat on the mound. The other boys ran away and whispered. They made a tale that was not just and brought it to the boy on the mound. He did justice. It was strange that the “Justice” was so full of wisdom Even though their play the boys felt that something wonderful had happened to the boy on the mound.

“He is a real judge, not a play judge, they said. They told the parents what had happened. Soon all the people in the village got into the habit of coming to the boy on the mound to settle their disputes. And everyone was always sure that his judgement was right.

There lived, close to the ruined city, a king. He was great and powerful. The story of the boy doing justice on the great mound reached his ears. The king laughed and said. “The boy is sitting on the seat of Vikramaditya. That is why he is wise”.

Then the king wished to posses the throne. He sent men to the mound with pickaxes and shovels. They dug away the boy’s green mound. They went deeper and deeper at last they come to a throne of black marble. Then the throne was taken to the palace of the king. A great day of rejoicing was proclaimed when the king would mount the throne was resting on the backs of twenty four beautiful carved eagles of the throne. On the day of great rejoicing the king came in state. He was accompanied by mace bearers. The men who carried the state jewels and the men, who funned him with great fans, made of the green – blue eyes of a peacocks tail followed the king. But when the was about to mount the throne, one of the carven eagles which bore the throne on its back came alive and spoke to the king.

“Stop” he said “Have you never wanted for yourself the kingdom of another? The king admitted that he had. He knew that his life was unjust “Then fast and pray for three days “Said the eagle” and come back again.

And the eagle flew away. After three days the king returned but the second eagle stopped him.
“Have you never” he said “done harm to another, to rob him of his riches”.

The king said “yes ofters” “Then fast and “then fast and pray for three days” said the eagle, “and come again” In this manner each time the king returned to mount the throne, an eagle spoke and showed some evil of his life.

The king went away with sarrow to his three day’s fasting. Last of all, there was one eagle left. The king came walking slowly” This time I must sit on the throne” he said to himself.

“Stop” said this eagle also. “Unless you tell me that your heart is as pure as the heart of a child you can not sit on the throne”.
The king looked within and found that his heart was not pure as the heart of the child. “I am not worthy” said the king. But he knew that last eagle had solved the mystery of the green mound of grass and why the throne of vikramaditya where the Shepard boy did justice was denied to him, the great and mighty king. Only those who were pure in heart like a child could be perfectly just.

Dya Singh Plays Spiritual music at Ashok’s Palace

On October 4th we were graced with a very special visit. The internationally renowned World Music group Dya Singh, performed at The Hindu Temple of Georgia’s Community Center –Ashok’s Palace. It was the centerpiece of an evening’s entertainment hosted by Dr. Inder Paul Sing of Atlanta, in commemoration of the first anniversary of The Sikh American Society of Georgia, which he founded. Dr Singh, who addressed the crowd of over 500, was able to book the band that hails from Australia, due to their being on a ten city tour of the United States. Among other speakers in attendance, was our very own Swamiji, Dr Commander “Selvam,” who welcomed the society and the musical group.

If you have never heard of Dya Singh before, you are really missing-out on a unique musical treat. The group takes its name from its founder Dya Singh, who was born of Punjabi Sikh missionaries, who immigrated to Malaysia. Dya decided to continue in his parent’s spiritual footsteps by promoting Sikhism through song and music and immigrated to Australia. Awarded "Male Artist of the Year" by the Australian World Music Organization, he has composed numerous spiritual songs and has recorded more than nine albums. Many of his songs are taken from Sikh sacred texts, and put to his melodies. He popularized the saying, “If you do not see God in all, then you do not see God at all,” which is boldly proclaimed across the front of the tour’s T-shits.

The World Music of Dya Sing mixes Indian musicians and instruments, with Western musicians and instruments. However, the resulting sound is still unquestionably South Asian to the Western ear. Dya laid down the musical foundation of each performance, by singing the lead vocals, usually in Punjabi, and unobtrusively accompanying himself on his, Harmonium, an Indian hand-pumped portable organ.

His youngest daughter, Parvyn, was seated to his immediate right, sang back-up, and added rhythmic punctuation, with wooden Dandya sticks. To her right sat Australian Andrew Clermont, playing sometimes a massively elongated didgeridoo, sometimes his white Epoch © electric violin, and sometimes an acoustic-electric guitar. Andrew embellished the musical theme with seamlessly spot on melodic contributions. On Dya left was one of the worlds finest Tabla Players, Dheeraj Shrestha. And finally, on stage left, was Josh Bennett, a left handed Australian, who played either his Gibson ES 335, a semi-hollow bodied, electric guitar, with an “OM” symbol emblazoned on the pick-guard, or his Dilruba - a bowed Indian instrument similar to a Sarangi.

When Josh plays the Gibson, if you closed your eyes, you would swear that he was playing a Sitar. Such is his musical dexterity and tonal mastery. I had a chance to speak with Josh after the performance, and he told me that although he is fluent in Folk, Jazz, and Blues, it is his current overwhelming fascination with Indian music, that brings him to the group. After the current tour, he plans to return to India, to continue his Sitar studies.

His wonderful music made the guests to dance forgetting their age and all other worldly things. Swamiji presented Shawls and gifts to the singers, officials of Sadsangat of Georgia and to the kids who performed cultural events. The fantastic dinner was also served to all the visitors. Everybody was happy to be at the holy place on a very happy evening.
